VoltSafe Media Release – October 11, 2023
The excitement had been building for months at VoltSafe Inc. headquarters as the company geared up to reveal its latest innovative marine shore power solution, VoltSafe Marine, at the second largest boating conference in the world, IBEX, 2023 (International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition & Conference). IBEX is a year-round hub for buyers and professionals looking to source the most innovative technology and newest products available. VoltSafe had a prominent presence at the show, exhibiting on the Tampa Convention Center’s third floor from October 3rd to 5th in Tampa, FL.
The event kicked off with a bang, with VoltSafe winning a prestigious 2023 IBEX Innovation Award. The IBEX Innovation Awards program is an annual competition recognizing outstanding design and engineering in multiple product categories. VoltSafe was recognized in the Boatyard and Marina Hardware and Software category. A panel of expert judges from Boating Writers International, including members of the media, designers, and engineers, all reviewed submissions and judged based on innovation, engineering and overall excellence. VoltSafe was chosen out of the nearly one hundred entries submitted from incredible innovators and blue chip brands from within the marine industry. It was truly an honour to be recognized amongst such incredible innovators and blue chip brands within the global marine industry.
If there is one thing that VoltSafe’s CTO Sanad Aridah is passionate about, it’s sharing how excited he is about our core technology and the many solutions VoltSafe is bringing to the world, in particular within the marine industry. The level and standard of safety that VoltSafe Marine will set is unprecedented. “Receiving the prestigious IBEX Innovation Award is an incredible honor. At VoltSafe, we’re crafting a connected marina ecosystem and our vision extends far beyond just shore power connectors. Our mission is to deliver the safest, most dependable, and user-friendly shore power experience at marinas. With VoltSafe technology, we’re future-proofing marinas in anticipation of evolving boat technology. This advancement will streamline the lives of marina owners and managers, making their operations more efficient, secure, and cost-effective. Being recognized by a panel of esteemed marine industry experts with this award is truly gratifying,” said Sanad, following acceptance of the Innovation Award at IBEX last week.
VoltSafe also announced at IBEX that it is now accepting fully refundable deposits from marinas to pre-order its award-winning shore power pedestal. This nominal deposit ensures marinas will get first access to units, along with securing preferred pricing on its initial purchase order.
The NMMA recently shared that IBEX 2023 marked its biggest event yet, with a record-breaking turnout that exceeded expectations on attendance. IBEX saw just shy of ten thousand clicks through the gates from industry professionals from 70 countries around the world. They reported that boat builders checked in with the highest numbers, representing nearly 30% of visitors on-site, and “new product discovery” was the top reason registrants reported for attending. Innovation, coupled with this year’s event focus on sustainability within the industry, are both core pillars that the company’s patented, novel technology are centered upon, making our presence at IBEX the perfect fit.
IBEX also offers unparalleled training and education from industry experts and associations. One of its specific educational segments focuses on current trends and innovations in the industry, with free-to-attend, one-hour Tech Talk seminars held in the Tech Talk Theatre. VoltSafe presented one of these sessions on Wednesday to a packed stage floor of engaged industry attendees, keen to learn more about VoltSafe technology and its impacts in the marine space. Led by CEO Trevor Burgess and CTO Sanad Aridah, VoltSafe took centre-stage to deliver a VoltSafe TECH TALK workshop, leading a conversation surrounding the challenges with conventional shore power, the importance of reliable, timely current leakage detection and the need for critical improvements in safety. VoltSafe’s marine solution resolves these critically important concerns.
IBEX is North America’s largest annual technical trade event for marine industry professionals. It’s owned and produced by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (www.nmma.org) and RAI Amsterdam (www.rai.nl), and powered globally by METSTRADE, the world’s leading platform and community for professionals in the leisure marine equipment industry.
We had an amazing time at IBEX, connecting with marina operators and boat builders, so many of whom are passionate about creating change to meet the demands for electric solutions and enhanced safety throughout the marine industry. We can’t wait til next year!
Up next, our VoltSafe team will be unpacking and repacking our bags to head to Amsterdam for METSTRADE from November 15th to 17th to showcase its (Innovation Award-winning) shore power solution, VoltSafe Marine.
