That’s A Wrap: VoltSafe Sails Away from METSTRADE with Another Winning Performance

The dynamic trio of CEO, Trevor Burgess, CTO Sanad Aridah, and the Manager of Business Development, Gaurav Parmar, headed to Amsterdam to represent VoltSafe’s second appearance at METSTRADE (Marine Equipment Trade Show). METS is the world’s largest trade show and platform for professionals in the leisure marine equipment industry. This global business stage focuses on innovation, market developments and on-site networking & knowledge events.

This year, the show celebrated its 35th anniversary, setting a new attendance record by hosting nearly 30,000 visits from attendees representing over 130 countries. METSTRADE management also reported record numbers of exhibitors too, at 1,540 – that included 240 NEW exhibitors which demonstrates the tremendous growth within the industry. The VoltSafe team capped the record-breaking event by winning the Startup Pitch Competition hosted by Yachting Ventures’ Founder, Gabbi Richardson.

VoltSafe showcased its award-winning marine shore power solution to a captive and engaged audience, many of whom have been in the industry for years and had yet to see such an innovative and much-needed solution to the current antiquated challenges posed by traditional shore power.

The VoltSafe crew knew that the over 15,000 km (return) journey between its Vancouver headquarters to Amsterdam and back would be rewarding not only for the company but also to the marine industry attendees at the show. METSTRADE did not disappoint.  Three days of torrential rain didn’t keep people away from a full week of events, exhibits and more at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.

From interested marina operators, to boaters and industry experts, the VoltSafe  booth was constantly flooded with guests sharing their excitement or expressing their keen interest in VoltSafe’s marine shore power solution. It was gratifying to see many familiar faces drop by our booth, including our friend, Luc Kan from Amphenol LTW while making many new and impactful connections. Attendees were drawn to find out more about the company’s award-winning shore power solution that will set a new standard in safety and efficiency.  It was very validating to see so much interest in VoltSafe Marine on an international stage.

You could say that the first days of the show were the perfect practice for the Yachting Ventures’ Startup Pitch Competition on day 3. VoltSafe was up against 5 other incredibly innovative startups in the METS Theatre, and pitches were judged by a panel of esteemed industry experts who chose the winner based on uniqueness, market potential, scalability, and overall impact on the leisure marine industry. VoltSafe earned the nod for its innovative marine shore power ecosystem.

With the win, VoltSafe earns a complimentary spot at METSTRADE next year, the potential for strategic funding, and significant coverage across the Yachting Ventures and METSTRADE media channels. This sets a course for an exciting path ahead for VoltSafe Marine and solidifies our return to METSTRADE 2024.

The sun came out on the final day of METSTRADE, a great way to cap off a fantastic week in Amsterdam.  If you would like to learn more about our award-winning marine shore power solution, follow us on social media or contact us HERE.
