That’s A Wrap: The “Circuit Whisperer” spills the tea on VoltSafe Technology at Motivate Vancouver
VoltSafe’s CTO, Sanad Aridah, took to the stage June 27th at Motivate Vancouver to pitch VoltSafe Marine. He spoke about the technological developments at the company. Motivate, a collaboration between CoMotion, Invest Vancouver, and TransLink, brings international attention to the vibrant early-stage companies in the Metro Vancouver region that are driving advancements in emerging mobility and clean transportation. The event serves as a platform for startups, innovative thinkers, venture capitalists, policymakers, and industry leaders from British Columbia and beyond to unite and participate in a groundbreaking global investment gathering.
Through this event, Vancouver establishes itself as a burgeoning global centre for innovation, underscoring its potential as a world hub for emerging technologies.
During his pitch, Sanad highlighted the safety features of VoltSafe Marine. These include the elimination of electric shock deaths and fire hazards due to the ability to reduce corrosion on the contacts. All of which reduce insurance claims and, in the end, save lives. He reminded the audience of the massive boat fire near Granville Island that recently hit the news. Sanad has had many conversations with marina owners and operators who are seeking a safer, simpler and smarter solution to the shore power hazards that they face every day.
Sanad also shared news on VoltSafe’s Beta Pilot Program which is currently open to Canadian and US-based marinas interested in testing the company’s innovative marine shore power solution. He shared a few of VoltSafe’s key milestones from the appearance on Dragons’ Den to the first commercial product and innovation awards. The path to progress continues with the potential commercialization of VoltSafe Marine, along with inbound inquiries and discovery calls with potential partners. He also mentioned the integration of VoltSafe Solutions into the lives of those with physical disabilities. The nods of acknowledgement in the crowd confirmed the desire to see products like VoltSafe Marine and VoltSafe Home on the market.
The panelists had some questions for Sanad after his pitch.
What is VoltSafe’s business development strategy including intentions of working with OEMS?
VoltSafe Solutions are designed to retrofit existing equipment to existing standards without an electrician. The technology or brains of the system live on the active side which controls the flow of electricity. This will lead to quick adoption which will eventually allow VoltSafe access to OEMS for the adapter side of the tech.
Which customers is VoltSafe targeting and how does the technology work with different electrical standards?
VoltSafe’s technology works as an electrical gate and products can be retrofitted to work with any outlet or voltage anywhere. VoltSafe does not interfere with voltage power in any way. Marinas are a customer base that has shown an eager interest and need for VoltSafe technology since site surveys showed they desperately need the technology behind VoltSafe Marine.
What is the market like for residential VoltSafe technology needs?
Sanad brought the house down with his comment about his dad getting lit up like a Christmas tree each holiday season while setting up the Christmas lights. While his quip brought some laughs, many in the audience could relate to the story as we have all been shocked at some point in our lives. He pointed out that 67% of home fires begin with electrical faults. There is also the issue of a reported 30,000 electric shock events with the use of traditional prong plugs. Lastly, the accessibility market has shown high interest in VoltSafe technology. Everyone from those with physical disabilities to the aging population will be greatly assisted by VoltSafe technology in their homes.
VoltSafe Technology is far reaching in meeting the needs of a variety of organizations, industries and individuals. With this type of interest, we are motivated to continue developing VoltSafe Solutions for everyone.
