Job Description
VoltSafe is navigating the waters of innovation and looking for a dynamic Marine Sales Specialist to join our team. With a strong background in marina operations and experience working with marine electricians and contractors, this individual will spearhead business development efforts to procure sales of the most advanced, award-winning, shore power pedestal and energy management system ever to hit the market. This role is critical to VoltSafe’s success as we commercialize our innovative shore power solutions. This person will be essential in driving sales, building strong relationships within the marine industry, fostering new leads, attending trade shows and conferences and being a routine contributor to a fast-paced work environment. This individual must demonstrate a solid understanding of the needs of a marina operator/manager and its boaters, the challenges of marina operations, raise VoltSafe’s awareness and drive VoltSafe sales and fulfillment. The marine industry is ripe for innovation, and your job is to deliver our innovative shore power solution to improve marina and boater safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting marinas in Canada and the U.S. for purchase orders.
- Build and maintain relationships with marina owners, marine contractors, electricians, and key industry stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including marina expansions, retrofits, and new installations.
Customer Engagement:
- Serve as the primary contact for marinas and contractors, understanding their needs related to shore power systems.
- Conduct product demonstrations, showcasing VoltSafe’s prongless power connectors, pedestals, and software solutions.
Partnership & Coordination:
- Collaborate with marine electricians and contractors to ensure seamless installations of VoltSafe solutions.
- Provide service support during installations, ensuring hardware and software integration is seamlessly delivered.
- Collaborate and work internally with all departments within VoltSafe from engineering to marketing, operations and senior leadership teams.
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales strategies.
- Report sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline development to senior leadership.
Event Participation:
- Attend industry events, boat shows, and trade expos to promote VoltSafe, acquire new leads, nurture existing partnerships and increase brand recognition.
Primary Qualifications
- 3 – 5 years of sales experience in the marine industry, particularly with marina electrical hardware (e.g., pedestals, connectors, control panels).
- Strong network within the North American marine industry, particularly with marina operators, electricians, and contractors.
- Experience with marina development projects, retrofits, or large-scale electrical system upgrades.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets, driving growth and securing large purchase orders in a B2B environment.
- Strong knowledge of shore power systems, marina pedestals, electrical infrastructure, and installation processes.
- Familiarity with software solutions related to marina management, including energy monitoring or billing systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to present technical solutions to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple accounts and sales workstreams simultaneously.
- Self-motivated, positive, and competitive, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for cutting-edge technology.
- Ability to travel to marinas, trade shows, and conferences as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and communication platforms (e.g. Slack, What’s App, Trello or similar)
- A Bachelor’s or College degree.
